March 08 Beauty of EconomyIn mid 90' there was a spurt in Miss Universe and Miss World contests being won by Indian girls. after the sharp rise like stock market the winners from India in beauty pagents almost became nill. At the time when the indian females were winning contets eveyone started giving their theory which ranged from "oh, finally world is recognising our hidden beauty talent" to saying "it was long overdue". In this euphoria there was one camp which said that it was all done so that cosmetics companies can make inroads in Indian market. Priyanka chopra' win reaffirmed this very well. Had it not been so how come she win even after giving a wrong answer. Today' India rising story is similar to the beauty pagent. This time economic gurus have replaced beauty pandits in fooling us.
How else can one say India is next economic super power when:
I donot know of nation in the world which has claimed to be powerful merely by givng economic freedom to just 25% of its population leaving remaining 75% to rot to their fate. The earlier we realise how we are making fool of ourselves by believing stories which are short of hallucination the better for us. The mob whch participates in such frenzy and furry appears to be the one that is left out from the growing prosperity and pushed further down into grave poverty. Brushing aside these sporadic instances could prove very fatal for our country. October 07 Lead India Campaign - A big jokeTimes of India's 'Lead India Campaig' is a big marketing stunt. Imagine 100 years ago in 1907, a news paper ad saying wanted leader to free India from Britishers. If only leaders could come through SMS, Voting etc then through woud be no need for one to go through trials and tribulation sthat makes one a leader. In a nation which is going crazy with relaity shows this is another gimmik to fool already stupid people. Internet & Pseudo satisfactionAs per the recent survey on internet users in USA it was found that one in every third said that they cannot imagin life without internet for a week. These people more or less can be categorised as addicts. We all want to fill our time and internet has become an easy way of doing that. People have lost the art of being with themselves. We are so obsessed with doing something and feel so guilty when we are not doing something that we just want to fill our time doing anything and that anything is spending time on 'internet'. and when we spendour time on internet we get that satisfaction (pseudo) that we have not wasted our time but done something. We feel guilt if we sit quitely with ourselves
(if at all we can do that) but donot mind spending hours together on internet. |
